J. A. Galloway Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors whose relatives attended Pearl High School. Graduating seniors who are interested in becoming a scholarship recipient are required to attend a four-year college/university and they must meet all application qualifications required by the foundation. Applications will be available in April. Completed forms, bearing a postmark no later than May 29, 2021 are required.

The Edward Boyd Scholarship for
Engineering and Computer Science Majors

The Pearl High School Heritage Classes Foundation, Inc. has the custodial care and distribution of the Edward Boyd Engineering and Computer Science Perpetual Scholarship. The recipients are not required to be descendants of Pearl High School attendees, but must

be a Nashville graduating high school senior.  They must be an Engineering or Computer Science major matriculating in a four-year college. Maintaining a 2.5 GPA entitles them to renewal of the scholarship for up to five years at $1,000 each year.

• Student must have maintained a high school GPA of 2.5 or better.
• Student must complete an application form.
• Student must indicate a desire for a scholarship by submitting a 350-word (not to exceed 500 words), typewritten biographical sketch that includes post-secondary goals.
• Student must submit a recent photo (which is non-returnable).

• Student must supply two (2) letters of recommendation – one each from a person from the following groups:

1.  School Personnel (i.e. counselor, principal or teacher).

2.  Community Personnel (i.e. pastor, Sunday School teacher, community official).

• Student must submit an official copy of the high school transcript (embossed with the school’s seal), including ACT/SAT scores, in a sealed envelope.

• Application, letters of recommendation and all other required materials must be POSTMARKED on or before May 29, 2021.
